The ExtrAcre Blog Is Live
The ExtrAcre Blog is now live. We publish one new article every week covering Saskatchewan farmland investment, rental management, and market trends — including dedicated posts answering the questions our clients ask most often.
Today, the ExtrAcre Blog goes live.
As operators of Canada's first online farmland rental auction platform, we speak with farmland investors, landowners, and farmers across Canada every day. The same questions come up again and again: What should my land be renting for? Which RMs are worth buying into? How do I find a tenant I can trust?
This blog exists to answer those questions properly — not with generic advice, but with analysis grounded in the real auction data ExtrAcre has accumulated across 250+ completed farmland rental auctions in Saskatchewan.
Every article belongs to one of four categories, together covering the full spectrum of Saskatchewan farmland knowledge:
We publish one new article every week, typically on Fridays. Content comes from two sources.
The first is original market analysis and educational content — regional rental rate comparisons, how to read a SAMA report, what El Niño means for Saskatchewan crop yields, and so on. These are the articles we wish existed when we started in this business.
The second is dedicated answers to questions our clients ask frequently. We've found that the same questions come up over and over — "I'm based in Vancouver, how do I manage land I've never seen?" "Does farmland rent get paid monthly like residential?" "My tenant's lease is expiring and he won't negotiate — what are my options?" These questions deserve a full article, not a quick reply.
If you're new here, here's where we'd recommend beginning — depending on where you are in your farmland journey.
If you're a farmland investor evaluating Saskatchewan as an asset class, start with Why Saskatchewan Farmland Is One of Canada's Best Long-Term Investments, then follow with How to Calculate Your Farmland Rental Yield Before You Buy to run the numbers on any parcel you're considering.
If you're a landowner who already holds Saskatchewan farmland, start with Why Saskatchewan Farmland Needs Professional Management — it's the article most landowners wish they'd read sooner. Then read 5 Things Landowners Should Know Before Their First Rental Auction to prepare for your next lease cycle.
